Clayton Campbell Shares the Passing of Associate Rudolf Brünger; Cultural Producer, Visionary, and founding member of Cultural Centre UfaFabrik in Berlin

The ufaFabrik Berlin regrets to announce, the passing of Rudolf Brünger on the 23rd of March 2016.

Rudolf Brünger, founding member and executive director of the International Cultural Centre ufaFabrik in Berlin will be sadly missed.  An academic, driven by a tireless vision of sustainability in culture and creativity, he was an artist of humanity, which shaped the ufaFabrik as it is today.

Initiating festivals and projects such as the “MIR Caravan” just before the fall of the Berlin wall, his inspiration and holistic approach will also be remembered for his dedication and development of international and European networks as well as civic initiatives. His last project at the ufaFabrik was the successful reconstruction of the Open Air Stage and Indoor Theatre Space.

Taken too soon at the age of 62 by leukemia, we have lost a dear friend and colleague. Rudolf will always be in our hearts,

Rudolf was an associate of mine, and worked with me as Co-President of Res Artis from 2002-2007. During that time we became close friends and colleagues and remained that way until three days ago. I visited him last November, knowing how ill he was and that this might be might last chance to see him, and it was as it turned out. To the end we were making plans for an eco-artist Think Tank in Berlin, and his spirits and mind never flagged. He is released from his body, his spirit in another plane. I will miss my brother Rudolf, may he come again in my lifetime in some form that reminds me of his goodness and charity, generosity and kindness.
